Technology Application
Using methanol as raw material, crude hydrogen (mainly CO2, H2, and trace CO, CH4) is produced by steam cracking process, and then purified by pressure swing adsorption technology to obtain hydrogen with purity meeting the requirements of users.
The raw methanol and raw desalted water are premixed at a certain ratio, pressurized by metering pump, preheated, gasified and superheated, and then enter the reactor. Under the action of catalyst, the reaction is carried out to generate crude hydrogen. After heat exchange, the heat is recovered, cooled, and then enter the pressure swing adsorption device for final purification.

The high-temperature conversion gas which comes from the bottom of reformer, after heat exchange with the raw material liquid, recover the heat and reduce gas temperature, and the temperature dropped to below 40℃ through the cooler. The purpose of this procedure is to reduce the temperature of the conversion gas, and make the methanol and desalted water component condensed.

The upper part of the reformer is filled with a stainless steel filler. The conversion gas enters from the bottom of the reformer, and washed up and down by the desalted water. That is to clean the non reacting methanol in the gas and return the washing liquid to the circulating liquid buffer tank. After cleaning, the gas is sent from the top to pressure swing adsorption process (purification of hydrogen). The purpose of water washing is to use water to absorb the methanol in the conversion gas, which can not only reduce the consumption of methanol, but also reduce the difficulty of the gas separation.
